Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Combat Capabilities Development Command - Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC), has awarded a sole source purchase order to Mid-American Elevator Company, Inc. for commercially available maintenance and support services for their Tower Hoist system. This system is critical for the Precision Armaments Laboratory (PAL) Tower, supporting research, development, testing, and evaluation activities. The contract is a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) order with a period of performance of three years, including one base year and two option years. The justification for this sole source award is based on FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), citing that Mid-American Elevator Company, Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only entity with the specialized expertise, proprietary knowledge of the custom-designed hoist systems, and required training to perform the maintenance and repairs effectively.
