Description
The City of Simi Valley is soliciting sealed bids from a California Class A or Class B licensed contractor for the demolition, removal, disposal, design, furnishing, installation, testing, startup, and commissioning of a new automatic drive-through bus wash system at the City's Transit Maintenance Facility. The system must serve the City's mixed fleet of transit buses and vans and include front, rear, side, and top washing; control systems; LED entry, speed-control, and rear-wash indicators; reverse-osmosis treatment and storage; water reclamation and reclaim-water storage; freshwater makeup; a 5-horsepower air compressor; and associated pumps, tanks, controls, and restraints. The work also includes permitting and California-licensed professional-engineer plans, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work, demolition and legal disposal of the existing system, installation of new splash-guard panels and painting of existing supports, traffic and site controls, testing, training, and closeout documentation. An alternate bid item covers replacement of a damaged Portland cement concrete pad. The expected completion period is 300 working days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must submit the specified proposal forms and certifications, a 10% bid security, and comply with federal transit funding requirements, Buy America requirements, prevailing-wage requirements, and the stated insurance and bonding provisions.
