Description
Santa Barbara County Public Works is soliciting a lump-sum construction bid for landscaping and irrigation improvements along the Modoc Multi-Use Path in the second supervisorial district. The work includes traffic control; soil preparation and weed removal; installation of trees, shrubs, perennials, groundcovers, mulch, fertilizers, gopher baskets, root barriers, and tree tubes; and installation of solar-powered irrigation controls, backflow prevention, valves, dripline, PVC piping, irrigation wire, tracer wire, and sprinklers. The contractor must provide traffic-control plans, protect existing vegetation and environmental resources, comply with prevailing-wage and public-works registration requirements, and hold the required California contractor license. The project includes a six-month plant-establishment maintenance and replacement period, including irrigation maintenance, weed removal, plant replacement, and a six-month irrigation-system guarantee. The estimated project cost is $706,000, with completion required within 95 working days. A 10% bid bond is required, and payment and performance bonds must each equal at least 100% of the total bid. Required insurance includes commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation/employer’s liability, and conditional pollution or asbestos liability coverage.
