Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is soliciting certified halal prepared meals for FCI Danbury's fiscal year 2027 first quarter requirements. The solicitation lists five meal items: 24 12-ounce filet-of-sole meals, 24 12-ounce beef goulash meals, 24 12-ounce beef pot roast meals, 24 12-ounce bone-in roasted chicken breast meals, and 24 16-ounce chicken wing meals. The meals include specified meat, sauce or gravy, and side-dish components, with detailed preparation requirements such as nonbreaded fish and not-fully-cooked pot roast. All products must be delivered between October 1 and October 15, 2026, during specified receiving hours. Deliveries must be palletized, properly marked, and maintained at the required temperatures; certified religious-diet items must display the required certification symbol on individual packages. Products will be closely inspected and may be refused if they fail the specifications or delivery requirements. Award will be based on best value, considering price and a go/no-go past-performance review focused on delivery timeliness and order accuracy/completeness.
