Description
Harris County Juvenile Probation Department is conducting a Request for Information to identify hospital entities and specialty medical providers capable of serving youth detained in secure juvenile facilities. The requested capabilities include 24/7 emergency department services; pediatric-capable inpatient hospitalization and surgical care; outpatient specialty services such as cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, orthopedics, infectious disease, and obstetrics and gynecology; diagnostic and ancillary services including imaging, laboratory testing, and therapeutic treatment; and coordinated discharge planning and continuity of care. Respondents should describe emergency, inpatient, surgical, specialty, diagnostic, discharge-planning, organizational, and secure-custody capabilities. Responses should address pediatric and adolescent readiness, trauma-informed care, wait times, referral and appointment processes, telehealth or mobile services, licensure and accreditation, experience with juvenile justice or similarly high-risk populations, secure patient movement, coordination with detention staff, and compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and applicable state healthcare requirements. This is an RFI for information and planning purposes only, not a request for proposals; unsolicited proposals and pricing information are not being requested, except for the requested Pricing Model information.
