Description
The Port of Portland is soliciting proposals from experienced medical providers or teams to perform on-call pre-employment screenings, physical examinations, fit-for-duty assessments, and annual occupational health services for Police Department, Fire Department, and Communications Center applicants and employees. Services include physician-supervised examinations, medical history reviews, laboratory testing, electrocardiograms and stress testing, respiratory and vision examinations, urinalysis without drug testing, tuberculosis testing, hearing tests, chest X-rays where applicable, and completion of required DPSST forms. Fire Department examinations must address medical surveillance and applicable National Fire Protection Association standards; hearing examinations must be performed by a Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation-certified person. Optional services include vaccinations, additional diagnostic testing, mammograms, Pap tests, and ultrasound screenings. Providers must hold a current Oregon and/or Washington medical license, maintain a testing facility within 30 miles of Portland International Airport, use appropriately licensed medical professionals, and provide on-call examinations within 14 days of request with assessments completed within seven days of examination. Approximately 25 Police Department examinations and 45 Fire Department examinations are anticipated annually, but no minimum work is guaranteed. Proposals may address either or both service categories, with both preferred. The Port may award one or more providers for a contract term of up to five years.
