Description
Cumberland County is seeking a contractor to replace the existing 1,000 MBTU natural-gas boiler and heating-water pump at Cliffdale Library with a high-efficiency condensing boiler, new gas piping and regulators, stainless-steel venting and combustion-air intake, heating-water piping, insulation, air and dirt separation, expansion tank, makeup-water components, and associated electrical connections. The work includes demolition, crane and rigging, multiple mobilizations, permitting, manufacturer startup, system flushing and chemical treatment, testing, adjusting, balancing, and a TAB report. The contractor must also replace the heating hot-water and chilled-water plant controller, provide a new building automation system plant controller with BACnet integration to the countywide enterprise system, install new control wiring, sensors, relays, emergency shutoff controls, graphics, trending, and alarms, and coordinate outages so the whole-building air-handler and cooling outage is limited to less than two days during off-hours, weekends, or holidays. The bid form includes a $5,000 unforeseen-conditions allowance and two alternates for preferred controls and boiler brands. The contract documents state a 45-calendar-day completion period from the written Notice to Proceed.
