Description
The City of Bridgeport seeks qualified, Connecticut-licensed repair shops to provide on-call, as-needed repair and parts services for heavy-duty truck cab and chassis, including Mack, Freightliner, Ford, Allegiance, and Oshkosh vehicles. Services may include brake repair and replacement, engine and transmission work, spring repair, welding, body repair and fabrication, and related pickup and delivery of equipment. The contractor must provide written estimates, use the City's standard labor-time system for pricing, retain removed parts for inspection, and obtain written authorization before beginning work or performing additional repairs. Bidders must submit a fixed hourly labor rate, travel-fee pricing, and a percentage markup over documented parts cost. The resulting agreement covers one year, with up to two annual extensions, and may establish a qualified bidder list from which the City solicits task-specific quotes. Contractors must have a Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles repair license and at least two years of heavy-equipment repair experience; subcontracting is prohibited. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, commercial general liability, automobile liability, and umbrella or excess liability coverage.
