Description
The City of Bridgeport is seeking a pool of qualified contractors to provide on-call, as-needed tree maintenance and arboricultural services. The scope includes tree pruning and trimming, tree removal, stump and root grinding, emergency and urgent response, tree assessments, arborist consultation, injection and herbicide services, invasive species removal, crane-supported emergency removals, tree preservation, tree installation, culvert cleaning, and secondary emergency services. Contractors must provide supervision, labor, tools, equipment, permits, debris removal, safety controls, and appropriately licensed and certified personnel. Work must comply with Connecticut arborist licensing requirements and applicable ANSI tree-care and safety standards. Emergency response must begin within one hour of notification; urgent requests must be completed within 24 hours, and regular assignments generally must be completed within 48 hours unless otherwise directed. The City intends to establish a qualified contractor pool, potentially selecting multiple vendors. Individual projects will be assigned through task orders or purchase orders, with compensation based on submitted unit prices, hourly rates, day rates, and other pricing schedules. The agreement has an initial one-year term with an option for up to two annual extensions. The annual compensation limit is $100,000 for the initial term and $100,000 for each extension year. Contractors must submit required vendor questionnaire responses, licenses, certifications, equipment information, crew capabilities, and other requested documentation. Insurance certificates are required from the awarded contractor before work begins, rather than with the initial bid.
