Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking capable providers for a potential firm-fixed-price service contract supporting the Portland VA Medical Center. The requirement covers approximately 10 unclaimed veteran remains per year and includes pickup and transportation, refrigerated storage, preparation for cremation, cremation arrangements, durable labeled urns, chain-of-custody documentation, death-certificate coordination and filing, and delivery for interment at Willamette National Cemetery or another authorized veterans cemetery. Pickup may be required within two business days when climate-controlled holding is available or within four hours when it is not, including expedited response for emergencies. Contractors must provide all personnel, vehicles, equipment, supplies, facilities, permits, and licensed operators; maintain required funeral-establishment and cremator-operator licenses, insurance, and transit permits; comply with applicable federal, state, local, VA, privacy, and funeral-service requirements; and support 24-hour availability for death notifications requiring immediate removal. Responses to this sources-sought notice must include company and socioeconomic information, a courtesy quote for a base year plus four option years, and a capabilities statement with references for similar services.
