Description
Sedgwick County is soliciting a contractor to provide complete cremation services for unclaimed human remains of individuals who died in the county, including transportation within 48 hours of notification, cremation within 72 hours of receipt, secure storage of cremated remains, identification and chain-of-custody controls, annual inventory reporting, and delivery of remains upon request or contract completion. The contractor must prevent commingling, maintain appropriate temporary containers, permit facility inspections, and comply with applicable laws and standards. The bidder must be a Kansas-licensed funeral home with a Kansas crematory license and Kansas crematory operator's license, or provide the applicable licenses for the establishment and personnel performing trade cremations. The response must include required employee background-check applications and proof of valid Kansas driver's licenses, along with the completed bid response form, proof of insurance, any applicable sample invoice, and clearly identified exclusions. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. The contract is for three years with two one-year renewal options.
