Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a new brand-name-or-equal high-capacity automated cage and rack washer system for vivarium operations. The equipment must wash and decontaminate animal cages, racks, bottles, pans, and related equipment, and must meet the specified dimensional requirements, including an overall maximum size of 80 inches wide by 104 inches high by 93 inches long. The replacement must fit the existing pit or include any necessary pit modifications. This is a turnkey project. The contractor is responsible for equipment, delivery, disconnection, removal and disposal of the existing washer, plumbing, electrical, steam, drain and exhaust work, pit demolition or modification, structural engineering, permits, infection-control requirements, final wall and pit patching and sealing, startup, testing, training, documentation, and warranty support. The washer must be installed during fiscal year 2027 and be functional by June 30, 2027; offerors must include a firm allowance for unknown pit modifications. A site visit is available by appointment, and the solicitation remains a total small-business set-aside awarded on a lowest-price, technically acceptable basis.
