Description
The City of Chino is requesting proposals for a two-phase professional engineering assignment. Phase 1 covers an emergency-power study for eight City-owned water facilities, including site assessments, electrical load and emergency-operating analyses, evaluation of permanent and portable generators and other backup-power technologies, benefit-cost analysis, permitting and environmental roadmaps, operations and maintenance planning, emergency response procedures, facility-specific Preliminary Design Reports, and preliminary designs equivalent to approximately 30% design. Phase 2 advances the Benson Water Treatment Plant backup-generator project through 60%, 90%, and final design. The selected consultant will provide field investigations, utility and conduit verification, potholing, environmental and grant support, generator and fuel-storage permitting, coordinated civil/electrical/mechanical/structural plans and specifications, cost estimates, quality-control documentation, and bidding assistance. The final package must be permitted, constructible, bid-ready, and incorporate applicable federal funding and Build America, Buy America requirements. The initial contract term is two years, with a one-year renewal option.
