Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a 4 Kelvin Closed Cycle Cryostat. This cryostat is required for the characterization of superconducting devices and circuits, specifically for research on pi-ground state Josephson junctions and testing superconducting digital logic circuits. The system must be closed-cycle, requiring no liquid cryogens, and achieve a base temperature below 4 Kelvin. It needs a substantial sample space with at least a 250mm diameter and 225mm height, utilizing non-magnetic materials within the sample space. The contractor shall provide a new system that meets all technical specifications, including cooling power, temperature stability, cooldown and warm-up times, vacuum ports, and specific non-magnetic material requirements for the sample space. The solicitation also includes an optional item for a 1 Tesla split coil magnet designed to fit within the sample space. NIST is seeking capability statements from all responsible sources, including small businesses, to determine if a small business set-aside is appropriate. Responses should include company information, country of manufacture, detailed specifications, typical lead times, and any other relevant information. Proprietary information should be marked accordingly. The capability statement should be submitted electronically to angela.hitt@nist.gov by the response date.
