Description
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) requires comprehensive repairs for Traction Power Substation (TPSS) 27, which sustained damage from a vehicular accident. The scope of work includes structural and exterior repairs to the substation, as well as the removal, replacement, adjustment, testing, and commissioning of damaged internal electrical components. The project involves evaluating and repairing damage to the TPSS exterior and interior structure, replacing damaged panels and access doors to ensure a structurally stable, secure, and weather-resistant enclosure. The contractor will also be responsible for removing existing damaged electrical components and installing RTD-supplied electrical components, as well as resetting other electrical components within the TPSS. Site security, traffic control plans in coordination with CDOT, and adherence to safety and quality management plans are also required. Specific tasks include the design and fabrication of bolted diagonal bracing to replace welded connections, application of structural coatings, and testing and commissioning of all repaired and replaced electrical equipment. The project also requires coordination with Xcel Energy for power feed and meter management.
