Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division (AMD), Team E-Boulder requires an ultrastable optical reference cavity system. This system will operate at a primary wavelength of 1396nm with a finesse of 200,000 to 400,000, and a secondary operating wavelength of 689nm with a finesse of 1,000 to 20,000. Key specifications include a thermal noise fractional frequency stability of 6x10^(-16) enabling a stabilized laser linewidth less than 1Hz. The system must feature a vacuum housing with an invar mounting block, low vibration stability, and precise temperature control (<1 mK/day). The vendor will provide characterization of the zero-crossing temperature, suitable for laboratory operation at 24°C, within the range of 28 to 40°C. The system must also enable laser stabilization to a modified Allan deviation at 1550nm of 6x10^(-16) at a 1-second averaging time and exhibit less than 15 kHz/day acceleration sensitivity along all axes.
