The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Art in Architecture Program is commissioning American artists to create a publicly scaled and permanently installed artwork for the modernization of the Land Port of Entry in Highgate Springs, Vermont. The commission is part of a new facility construction project. The art budget is estimated between $400,000 and $500,000, and one or more artists will be awarded a fixed-price contract. The scope of services includes collaboration with the lead designer, travel to the site, development and presentation of concepts, fabrication, delivery, installation, documentation, and maintenance planning. Artists must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. GSA will prioritize works that portray historically significant Americans or events, or illustrate the ideals upon which the Nation was founded.
