Description
The City of Burlington's Department of Public Works, Water Resources Division, is seeking a qualified environmental engineering, wastewater compliance, or industrial pretreatment consulting firm to provide on-call technical support for development, implementation, and long-term operation of the City's Industrial Pollution Prevention Program. The work is intended to support compliance with state and federal wastewater requirements and obtain state approval for the City's local pretreatment program. Potential services include industrial-user sampling and surveys; local-limits evaluation; industrial wastewater discharge permit preparation and review; inspections and compliance monitoring; interpretation of self-monitoring and sampling data; enforcement and regulatory-compliance support; annual reporting; development of procedures, forms, educational materials, and related documents; and support for state or federal pretreatment audits. Services will be authorized through City-issued work assignment agreements. Firms must demonstrate relevant municipal industrial pollution prevention experience, technical qualifications, regulatory expertise, and capacity to provide on-call support. The contract term is three years, with two optional one-year extensions.
