Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio River Division is conducting a sources-sought inquiry for a potential multiple-award task order contract covering metal machining, fabrication, refurbishment, delivery, and installation for Civil Works and potentially military projects involving locks, dams, flood-risk-management facilities, and related infrastructure. The contemplated work includes new and refurbished steel and aluminum components, castings, forgings, hydraulic cylinders, gates, bulkheads, cranes, bridges, valves, screens, gears, coatings, pressure vessels, and precision machining. Installation may involve marine equipment, land-based or floating cranes, removal and disposal of existing structures, and replacement of associated components. Facilities must be capable of fabricating very large components, including bulkheads up to 110 feet wide, miter gates up to 75 by 65 feet, and 110-foot-wide Tainter gates indoors. Certain work may require AISC quality certifications with Fracture Critical, Sophisticated Paint, and specified bridge or hydraulic fabrication endorsements. The potential value is approximately $250 million to $400 million over approximately five to ten years. The sources-sought response requires a capabilities statement and answers regarding Cage Code, business size, geographic capability, fabrication and refurbishment capability, installation scope, and the number and approximate dollar size of projects the firm can manage simultaneously. This notice is for market research only; it is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid, and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Formal solicitation specifications, drawings, schedules, wage determinations, and submission instructions are expected with the future RFQ.
