Description
Colorado School of Mines is soliciting bids for construction of metal work at the Lookout Apartments residence hall. The scope includes rooftop and at-grade mechanical equipment screens, metal cooling-tower access platforms, a freestanding metal trellis, alternating-tread access equipment, bar-grating platforms, and guardrails at the south loading dock and other site locations. Work includes fabrication, structural steel, weathering-steel and formed-metal panels, pipe and tube railings, bar gratings, coatings, concrete foundations and related installation. The project is estimated at $2,000,000 and is intended to be substantially complete by January 8, 2027, with construction coordinated around the occupied building's academic calendar and winter break. Bidders must demonstrate at least two similar projects exceeding $2,000,000, bonding capacity up to $2,000,000, and compliance with Colorado labor, prevailing-wage, apprenticeship, Buy Clean Colorado, and applicable environmental-product-declaration requirements. A 5% bid bond is required; awarded contractors must provide payment and performance bonds of at least 50% of the contract value.
