Description
The Borough of Hawthorne is soliciting bids for professional animal control services for the contract period beginning October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, with an exclusive option for one additional twelve-month period. The contractor must provide licensed Animal Control and Humane Law Enforcement Officers, maintain a central call-receiving location, respond to calls within 30 minutes, and operate continuously 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The scope includes collecting and impounding stray, sick, dangerous, injured, diseased, or potentially rabid animals; housing dogs and cats in an approved facility; removing dead animals from public property; humane trapping of wild and stray animals; municipal patrols; goose harassment on municipal and school properties; monthly reporting; enforcement of applicable animal-related laws; and court appearances when necessary. Required bid materials include the specified ownership, non-collusion, responsibility, licensing, registration, certification, technical-response, proposal, addendum, and checklist forms. Bid security and performance bonds are waived.
