Miami County is soliciting financing proposals for approximately $2,812,000 to fund the purchase of four fire apparatus for Miami County Rural Fire District #1: two Spartan Type 1 engines with Spartan chassis, one Spartan engine with a Freightliner chassis, and one Spartan tender. The listed equipment will serve stations in Paola, Louisburg, and Osawatomie, and final pricing or model selection may change subject to manufacturer discounts and Commission approval. Bidders must provide fixed interest rates and total financing costs for 10-, 12-, and 15-year lease-purchase terms, along with amortization schedules showing payment number, principal balance, interest, and principal amounts. The financing is intended to be tax-exempt and bank-qualified, with annual principal payments and semiannual interest payments beginning March 1, 2027. The contract is expected to run for approximately 12 months from notice of award, with renewal possible by mutual agreement.
