Description

The Federal Aviation Administration is soliciting firm-fixed-price services for chemically controlled vegetation management at facilities in the western Kansas City District. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, herbicides, equipment, supervision, and insurance for soil sterilization and weed control in gravel, rock, bare-ground, roadway, plot, ditch, and fence-line areas. Required vegetation control includes one initial solid application and three touch-up applications per contract year, with a minimum 90% vegetation kill rate within 30 days and no-cost retreatment when the required result is not achieved. Work includes emergent and pre-emergent herbicide treatment for weeds such as Johnson grass, foxtail, and kochia, as well as selective broadleaf herbicides and growth retardants or regulators where applicable. The contractor must comply with federal, state, local, EPA, OSHA, airport, and manufacturer requirements; use trained and state-licensed applicators; provide proposed herbicide schedules, technical data, safety precautions, application methods, and rates for review; supply water and spray-pattern indicator dye; coordinate FAA escorts with at least three days' notice; and perform work during specified weekday business hours. The scope covers sites in Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, with pricing organized by facility and contract year.
