Description
Denver Public Schools is seeking a design-builder for the design, installation, renovation, retrofit, replacement, and repair of fire sprinkler systems at six schools. The work must provide complete fire suppression coverage and comply with 2019 NFPA 13, the 2021 International Building Code, applicable Colorado and Denver requirements, and DPS design and construction standards. Scope includes hydraulic flushing and calculations, new sprinkler components, fire caulking at floors and stairwell walls, related soffits, painting, piping, fire and smoke protection, permitting, utilities, site work, construction, and closeout. The procurement uses a fixed-price design-build approach and includes design, preconstruction, construction, and warranty services. The selected design-builder must provide pricing, value engineering, scheduling, constructability support, competitive subcontractor selection, and at least three bids for self-performed work. Payment and performance bonds are required in the full contract amount, and a Colorado office may be required. The proposal must include the required forms, pricing for each project, a diverse business inclusion commitment, and a completed bid bond.
