Description
The City of Bristol is seeking individuals and companies with qualified trucks, loaders, operators, and equipment to support snow plowing operations during the 2026–2027 winter season. The program intends to contract for up to 18 smaller four-wheel-drive trucks, 26 or more large trucks, and potentially 3-yard loaders, with active and reserve lists established based on vehicle capacity, submission sequence, and other stated considerations. Services are paid by actual hours worked at established hourly rates, subject to a fuel adjustment factor; active-list vehicles may qualify for guaranteed minimum seasonal payments of $1,000 for selected trucks between 8,000 and 18,000 GVW and $1,500 for selected trucks greater than 18,000 GVW, subject to conditions. Contractors must provide suitable plows, ballast, fuel, tire chains, communications equipment, flashing yellow lights, and compliant vehicles and operators. Requirements include applicable licenses, registrations, insurance, cellular or radio communication, GPS compatibility, response within 30 minutes when called, attendance at the snowplow operators meeting, and compliance with the City's operating rules. The submission package requires vehicle data for each vehicle, insurance documentation, vehicle registration, operator license documentation, a W-9, and other applicable forms identified in the solicitation.
