Description
The City of Norfolk is seeking one or more firms to provide full turnkey liquidation services for the assets of MacArthur Center, a large retail and entertainment facility. The contractor will sell assets on an “as is” and “where is” basis, determine auctionable categories and lots, catalogue and photograph assets onsite, assist with valuations and bidding parameters, market auctions, operate a secure ADA-accessible online auction platform, manage online and potential live auctions, coordinate inspections and buyer support, supervise load-out and removal, collect payments, remit sales taxes, and provide daily and final financial reconciliations. Asset categories include food-service and restaurant equipment, retail fixtures, entertainment and audiovisual equipment, office and commercial equipment, salvageable infrastructure and mechanical equipment, elevators and escalators, artwork, fountains, murals, and statues. The contractor must maintain a marketing database of at least 10,000 subscribers and advertise each auction on at least four auction-marketing websites. The expected liquidation services are to last through March 2027, while the resulting agreement is stated to run for two years from full execution.
