Description
The Military Sealift Command is conducting a market survey to inform a potential Jones Act charter procurement for newly built tankers. The agency is requesting industry feedback on whether various contract structures would support financing vessel construction, including a one-year base period with consecutive one-year options and firm base periods of five, ten, or fifteen years. Respondents are also asked to provide estimated daily charter-hire rates for specified contract terms and comment on termination fees, front-loaded capital costs, and other market conditions that could affect the industry's ability to propose a new-build Jones Act tanker. This is a request for information only and is not an offer or commitment to contract.
