Description
The County of Maui is soliciting a contractor under Job No. 26-27/P-55 to perform controlled above-grade removal at Malu-Ulu-O-Lele Park and its adjacent parking-lot parcel. Work includes removal of designated chain-link fencing, shade-structure framing and canopy, signs, poles, bollards, telephone poles, lighting fixtures, concrete pilasters, asphalt sports-court and parking-area paving by controlled cold milling, and asphalt curbs. The contractor must haul and lawfully dispose of removed materials and install a permeable geotextile with a uniform 3-inch screened-topsoil cover over specified parking-lot areas. The work is at a historically and archaeologically sensitive site. The contractor must protect existing slabs, fencing, utilities, drainage, landscaping, historic and cultural resources, and improvements designated to remain; perform work without unauthorized excavation or subsurface disturbance; coordinate with a County-provided archaeological monitor; provide temporary non-penetrating barricades, security fencing, erosion, sediment, dust, debris, and pollution controls; and submit an Above-Grade Removal, Historic Resource Protection, and Temporary BMP Work Plan. The proposal form must be completed, signed, and submitted with the bid bond. The contract requires completion within 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed according to the bid conditions, while the proposal form states 90 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed; this discrepancy should be clarified before bidding.
