Description
The County of Maui is soliciting construction bids for modifications to the Waiehu Kou Wastewater Pump Station, Job No. WW23-10. The work includes removal and replacement of existing pumps, piping, valves, and appurtenances; installation of two variable-speed wet-pit submersible pumps and one uninstalled backup pump; a magnetic flow meter, pressure-transducer level controls, combination air valve, and related discharge piping; and temporary sewage bypass pumping to maintain continuous wastewater service. The project also includes structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, and controls work. Major elements include renovation of the existing control building, installation of an emergency generator with fuel system, manual and automatic transfer switches, variable-frequency drives, lighting, telemetry, controls, an aboveground diesel fuel tank, site work, pavement and sidewalk restoration, testing, startup, training, commissioning, and archaeological monitoring. The contractor must perform at least 50 percent of the total contract cost less deductible items and provide a bid bond equal to at least 5 percent of the bid amount. The proposal must be downloaded, completed, signed, and uploaded with the bid submission. Addendum No. 1 was posted on September 16, 2026, and revised the non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site inspection to September 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time.
