Description
The County of Maui Department of Public Works is soliciting construction bids for replacement of an existing roadside dry-stacked rock retaining wall with a concrete soil nail wall and replacement of metal guardrail on Iao Valley Road. The work also includes roadway shoulder and under-guardrail paving, cold planing and resurfacing, signage and pavement markings, vinyl picket fencing, grading, tree removal and relocation, temporary relocation of overhead electrical lines, a temporary utility pole, water-service lateral and appurtenance work, and temporary best management practices and erosion-control measures. The proposal must be completed and signed on the Department's furnished form and submitted with bid security. Bids must be submitted electronically through the Public Purchase System. The project requires appropriately licensed Hawaii contractors, a 5% bid bond or other permitted bid security for bids of $25,000 or more, and completion within 155 working days from the Notice to Proceed. The solicitation also requires a subcontractor or joint-contractor listing, a signed safety and health certification for projects exceeding $100,000, and applicable project-specific technical qualifications and submittals.
