Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is soliciting electronic bids from DGS-certified Micro Businesses to serve as the prime contractor for replacing the roofs of three residences—one superintendent's residence and two deputy's residences—at SCI Somerset. The work covers approximately 10,380 square feet and includes removal of existing roof assemblies, metal edging, flashings, fascia, trim, ridge vents, gutters, and downspouts; installation of underlayment, ice and water shield, shingle roofing, new roof edges, flashings, ridge vents as required, sealants, and related hardware; and a 30-year shingle warranty. The project must be completed within 60 calendar days after the initial job conference. The prime contractor must self-perform at least 51% of the work and may subcontract no more than 49%; any applicable subcontracting plan must identify subcontractors, contacts, addresses, services, staffing, and resumes. A mandatory site inspection is scheduled for September 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time, and bidders must attend to submit a responsive bid. Attendees require advance security-clearance checks. Bidders must submit the Micro Business Certification, Domestic Workforce Utilization Form, and Worker Protection and Investment Certification Form through the electronic bidding process.
