Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting bids for construction work to correct HVAC deficiencies at the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System's Omaha VA Medical Center. The scope includes base work for Air Handling Unit 3, an additive alternate for Air Handling Unit 1, replacement of the Building 6 boiler, temporary HVAC equipment and distribution, pressure-independent control valves, airflow monitoring stations, controls integration, testing, adjusting and balancing, commissioning, demolition, utility connections, and restoration work. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision and coordinate shutdowns with the VA's Contracting Officer's Representative while the medical center remains operational. Amendment 0001 extends the offer deadline and incorporates responses to questions, Addendum 01, and the site-visit sign-in sheet. The amendment clarifies that temporary equipment is contractor-furnished and installed, temporary systems must be commissioned and integrated with the existing building automation system, outage windows may be up to four hours subject to approval, and AHU 1 and AHU 3 are not expected to be out of service concurrently.
