Description
The City of Omaha is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for the demolition and complete removal of 10 condemned structures at separately awarded sites. Work includes demolishing dwellings, commercial and industrial structures, garages, storage sheds, fences, terrace steps, and specified trees or vegetation; removing foundations, debris, rubbish, and other materials; hauling waste; backfilling excavations with clean fill dirt; grading sites; and seeding disturbed areas. Site-specific requirements address utility disconnections, sewer capping, inspections, dust control, hazardous materials, and asbestos removal when applicable. Bidders must submit pricing for individual demolition sites through the electronic bidding system. Required response materials include the Responsible Contractor Compliance Form, Certificate of Insurance, SEB Participation Disclosure Form, Minority Business and Women Business Enterprise and Fair Housing Plan, Affidavit for Employee Classification Act and Fair Labor Standards, bid security when applicable, Contractor Information Form, and Minority Business and Women Business Enterprise Plan. A bid bond or acceptable substitute is required when the applicable site bid is $50,000 or more, calculated at 5% of the highest applicable site bid. The original bid security must be delivered to the City Clerk within seven calendar days after closing, and a performance bond equal to the awarded bid is required after award.
