Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking information from capable sources for authorized Caterpillar technical services to repair, maintain, and overhaul ship’s service and main propulsion diesel engines aboard its cutters. The scope includes technical representative and engineering services, lube oil flushes, generator overhauls, and remanufactured main propulsion engines, with associated performance testing, timing synchronization, valve rotators, and vibration analysis. The government estimates that 36–40 engines will be serviced annually across multiple cutter classes. The notice is for market research only, not a request for proposals or quotations. The Coast Guard anticipates at least ten firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple-award contracts for Caterpillar-authorized dealers. Respondents are asked to provide a capability statement, relevant experience, evidence of access to Caterpillar proprietary components, and the other specified company and business-size information. A minimum of six years of experience with the identified systems is required. The contract structure described is one base year plus four option years, if exercised.
