The Virginia Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for maintenance and repair services for the M/V Sunnybank Ferry. The scope includes towing the ferry to and from the dry dock, dry docking, underwater surface preparation and media blasting, underwater painting, hull zinc and anode replacement, freeboard and car-deck preparation and coating, ramp and pilot-house painting, and steel and mechanical repairs. Additional work includes repairs to ramp lift guards, railings, vehicle barriers, the hull and car deck, bilge float switch and monitor installation, resealing four deck hatches with hull air testing, and related inspection and refinishing work. The solicitation package includes fillable forms and specifications.
