Description
Johnson County Community College is seeking a contractor to provide labor, materials, equipment, and recurring cleaning of approximately 28 commercial kitchen exhaust systems across its main campus. The scope includes cleaning hoods, grease filters, plenums, horizontal and vertical ducts, access panels, exhaust fans, fan blades, motor housings, and adjacent roof areas to a bare-metal condition in compliance with NFPA 96 and applicable fire and regulatory codes. The contractor must use food-safe, non-toxic, biodegradable degreasers; protect surrounding equipment and surfaces; contain and properly dispose of wastewater and grease; restore stove pilot lights; apply certification tags to each hood; and provide labeled before-and-after photographs and deficiency reporting within five business days after service. Three systems require quarterly cleaning and four locations require semiannual cleaning. Work must occur outside school operating hours on weekdays between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., with active IKECA, Phil Ackland, or comparable technician certifications submitted with the proposal. The agreement has a one-year initial term with up to four additional one-year extensions.
