Description
The City of Overland Park is seeking a qualified consultant to research and develop a Natural Resources Management Plan for city-owned parks and natural areas, including greenways, lakes, golf courses, and an arboretum. The plan must identify priorities for natural-resource protection and restoration, ecological corridors and connectivity opportunities, anticipated carbon-reduction projections, and implementation priorities for the next 10 years. The scope includes project management; inventory and assessment; land-cover mapping; benchmarking against peer park systems; internal, external, and community stakeholder engagement; two presentations; restoration and conservation project prioritization; budget and cost estimates; staffing and contractor-labor analysis; monitoring recommendations; private-land stewardship strategies; and streambank stabilization and waterway-management guidelines. Proposals must include an executive summary, project understanding and approach, consultant profile and experience, personnel descriptions, at least three similar-project references completed within the past six years, and a detailed cost proposal with a not-to-exceed price. The work is funded through federal Climate Pollution Reduction Grants and must be completed by June 1, 2027.
