Description
Whitley County, Indiana, through the Whitley County Commissioners, is soliciting sealed bids for the modernization of the passenger elevator system at the Whitley County Courthouse. The project includes replacement of the existing elevator controller with a new non-proprietary microprocessor controller and solid-state drive system, replacement of hoisting machinery, motor, governor, rope gripper, hoist ropes, shackles, and associated operating equipment, as well as door operators, hall stations, car operating panels, positioning systems, traveling cables, and related controls. Additional work includes installation of new hall position indicators, car top railings, inspection stations, ventilation equipment, electrical improvements (disconnects, lighting, receptacles, smoke detection, fire alarm interface, communication cabling), HVAC improvements (dedicated machine room split system), and civil/masonry improvements (machine room construction, fire-rated door installation, structural modifications). The project is to be performed at the Whitley County Courthouse located at 101 W Van Buren St, Columbia City, Indiana. Bids must be submitted on the provided bid forms and include a certified check or bidder's bond of at least 5% of the highest aggregate bid. Performance and payment bonds of 100% of the contract price will be required at contract execution. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
