Description
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind is soliciting proposals for the full replacement of two ADA passenger elevators: one in Bloxham Hall, Building 3, and one in Coleman Center, Building 13. The work includes furnishing all equipment, tools, labor, travel, materials, permits, and licenses; replacing the specified vertical platform wheelchair lifts; installing fire-rated landing doors, automatic door operators, and a code-compliant ramp; reusing the existing shafts/runways; and matching existing car dimensions, openings, travel, and finishes where specified. The contractor must perform the work in accordance with ANSI A17.1, the National Electrical Code, and applicable ADA requirements; conduct testing and required inspections; provide equipment arrangement drawings, wiring diagrams, a final inspection report, and a one-year warranty for installed materials and labor. The buildings will remain occupied during the replacement period unless work occurs during non-school days or breaks, and the elevators will be out of service until final inspections are complete. The contract has a stated maximum value of $170,000 and is not renewable.
