Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is soliciting a firm-fixed-price construction contract to comprehensively modernize one existing traction passenger elevator in Building 9 at FCI Seagoville. The contractor must provide all engineering, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals, including replacement of the obsolete controller with a non-proprietary microprocessor controller and variable-frequency drive; a new AC hoist motor, braking and safety equipment, ropes, governor, door operator, doors, light curtain, traveling cables, emergency communication system, fixtures, fire-service interfaces, security-reader wiring, pit equipment, sump pump, lighting, ladder modifications, and related conduit and wiring. The completed system must comply with ASME A17.1/CSA B44, ADA/ABA, NFPA, NEC, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements. The scope also includes field verification, surveys, shop drawings, testing and certification, inspections, as-built wiring diagrams, permits and certifications, energy-efficiency documentation, and at least two hours of on-site staff training. Installers must be manufacturer-certified. The estimated project magnitude is $100,000 to $170,000, with delivery required by July 27, 2027. The acquisition is a 100 percent small-business set-aside, and award will use a best-value tradeoff considering price and past performance. The amendment extends the quote deadline to September 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Central Time.
