Description
The University of California, Los Angeles is soliciting sealed lump-sum bids to modernize five elevators at its Westwood Center: three traction elevators and two hydraulic elevators. The work includes new controllers, variable-frequency drives, traction hoist machines, pump and power units, door operators and equipment, fixtures, wiring, traveling cables, roller guides, seismic components, governors, fire-return systems, detector edges, pit devices, hydraulic jack units with PVC liners, rupture valves, and related elevator components and communications systems. The estimated construction cost is $1,857,000. The successful bidder must hold a current and active California C-11 Elevator contractor license at bid submission. The project is a public work subject to prevailing-wage, nondiscrimination, Department of Industrial Relations registration, and applicable UC Fair Wage requirements. Participation in the entire mandatory pre-bid conference and job walk is required for prime contractors to bid.
