Description
The City of Monterey is soliciting a licensed Class C36 plumbing contractor for a job order contract providing a readily available workforce for plumbing repairs, replacement of plumbing components and systems, alterations to existing facilities, emergency repairs, and new construction. Work will be issued through written work orders at locations and times determined by the City, including emergency work requiring a response to the site within three hours. The initial contract term is one year, with options for two additional one-year extensions, for a maximum term of three years. Annual funding is capped at $1,000,000, with no minimum annual work guaranteed. Bidders must provide labor, materials, equipment, incidentals, prevailing-wage labor, required permits, traffic and environmental controls, and related construction support. The solicitation also requires a 10 percent bid bond, $250,000 performance and payment bonds, insurance coverage, California public-works registration, applicable licenses, CARB compliance certificates or exemption explanations, and a good-faith local hiring certification covering Monterey Bay Area residents.
