Description
The City of San Angelo is soliciting stop-loss reinsurance for its partially self-funded medical and prescription health plans. Coverage is for eligible employees, pre-65 retirees, dependents, and one COBRA participant, with Aetna administering the medical plans and CVS managing the prescription plan. Proposals must be based on the current benefits and provide coverage effective January 1, 2027. Respondents must provide pricing for specific deductibles of $200,000, $225,000, and $250,000, with medical and prescription coverage under specific and aggregate 24/12 contracts. The proposal must address carrier financial stability, claims processing, service capabilities, past performance, contract terms, risk retention, exclusions or caveats, rate guarantees, lasers, gene therapy coverage, and related stop-loss questionnaire items. The contract is expected to run for one year, with two one-year renewal options for the 2028 and 2029 plan years.
