Description
The City of Fairfield is soliciting a contractor for a sanitary sewer extension along River Road. The work includes installing approximately 1,000 feet of 3-inch HDPE low-pressure sanitary sewer force main, including horizontal directional drilling and tracer wire; connecting nine properties currently using septic systems through force-main service laterals; installing a terminal flushing connection, manholes, gravity sewer, and related appurtenances; and restoring pavement, sidewalks, curbs, lawns, and other disturbed surfaces. The project also includes traffic control, erosion and sediment control, construction layout, mobilization, and as-built plans. The engineer's estimate is $184,590. Bidders must comply with Ohio prevailing-wage requirements, provide a 10% bid bond or certified/cashier's check, and submit evidence of similar project experience. Performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the contract price, are required after award. The contract period is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated in December 2026.
