Description
The City of Cincinnati, through Greater Cincinnati Water Works, is soliciting a contractor to investigate and replace lead, galvanized steel, or unknown water service lines on public and private property. The work includes approximately 458 service lines in the Clifton/Woolper/Vine and Harvey/Rockdale/Blair work areas, including public-side replacements from the water main to the curb stop and private-side replacements from the curb stop to the meter or building entry. The scope also includes interior service relocations, meter-setting work, utility potholing, stop-cock and curb-box replacement, service-line investigations, customer coordination, flushing and testing, and certified-person permitting support where required. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, copper service pipe, fittings, excavation, trenchless or open-cut installation, traffic control, temporary and final restoration, and documentation. Restoration may include concrete walks, curb and gutter, driveways, asphalt, topsoil, seeding, mulching, and cold-patch pavement. The bid requires completion of all pricing items in the provided Excel bid sheet, electronic submission of the completed pricing sheet and required forms, compliance with DBE good-faith-effort requirements, Build America, Buy America and American Iron and Steel requirements, prevailing-wage requirements, responsible-bidder and apprenticeship requirements, and applicable insurance and bonding provisions. The contractor must begin within five calendar days after written notice to proceed and complete on-site work within 300 calendar days after that notice.
