Description
The Town of Berlin is seeking a contractor to support Town crews with comprehensive snow removal and ice control services during the 2026–2027 snow season. Service areas may include Steele Boulevard, Main Street in Kensington, Town parking lots including schools, the Town Hall complex, and other Town-owned properties designated by the Highway Superintendent. The scope includes plowing, treated-salt application, snow removal, sanding, salting, deicing, and related operations. For each storm event, the contractor must provide an operator with a four-wheel-drive plow truck and salter, an operator with a skid steer and pusher box, and a laborer/shoveler with appropriate tools. The contractor must maintain reserve equipment, furnish labor, equipment, fuel, materials, maintenance, and supplies, and mobilize within one hour of notification. Proposals must include relevant experience, organizational and capability information, references, a sample billing format, conflict-of-interest and litigation disclosures, a complete non-price proposal, electronic pricing for base and additional equipment/services, a W-9, phone number, proposal confirmation, and other requested information. The selected contractor must provide a $2,500 performance bond and required insurance before commencing work; the contract may be extended for up to two additional snow seasons by mutual agreement.
