Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price contractor to remove and replace approximately 600 square feet of existing flooring and subflooring in Operating Room 5, Room 4211, Building 1W. The work includes asbestos survey testing and abatement of approximately 600 square feet of asbestos-containing flooring and subflooring, demolition to the deck, substrate preparation, and installation of VA-approved sheet vinyl flooring with integral cove base, underlayment, leveling compounds, primers, adhesives, heat-welded seams, and related accessories. The replacement flooring must match the existing elevation and closely match the existing color and pattern, subject to VA approval. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, infection-control containment, anteroom construction, HEPA negative-air systems, PPE, dust and debris control, waste disposal, safety documentation, air-quality monitoring, and required preconstruction submittals. Work must be performed in an occupied medical facility while minimizing disruption to clinical operations and complying with VA safety, infection-control, environmental, security, asbestos-abatement, and prevailing-wage requirements. All work must be completed within 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, and the finished work carries a one-year construction warranty.
