Description
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mineral Resources Management, is soliciting construction bids for the West Blue Rock Reclamation South project in Muskingum County. The work includes reclamation of approximately 7,550 feet of unreclaimed highwalls and associated impoundments from prior surface-mining operations; dewatering approximately 1.7 million gallons; and using approximately 348,000 cubic yards of onsite soil to construct backfill slopes of approximately 2.5:1 across an approximately 36-acre construction footprint. Additional work includes access-road and staging-area construction, clearing and grubbing, temporary stream crossings, sediment and erosion controls, rock and concrete-lined channels, temporary seeding, lime and fertilizer application, wetland creation, farm-gate installation, soil ripping, tree planting, permanent revegetation, and maintenance. The engineer’s estimate is $2,524,561.76, the construction completion date is April 28, 2028, Davis-Bacon wage requirements apply, and the project has a 5% Encouraging Diversity, Growth, and Equity participation goal. Electronic bids must be submitted through Bid Express by the stated deadline, and attendance at the pre-bid meeting is mandatory.
