Description
The City of Athens is soliciting sealed bids for the Hudson Street Water Line Upgrade, City Project #382. The work includes replacing the waterline on Hudson Avenue to facilitate service for eight new homes and support current residents, along with service connections for existing water meters. The engineer’s estimate for the base bid is $320,000. Bids are due by 11:00 a.m. on October 5, 2026, and will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project requires a 100% proposal bond, or an approved alternative security equal to 10% of the bid, and a 100% performance bond. The prime contractor must perform at least 30% of the total original contract price. Work must comply with prevailing-wage requirements under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4115 and applicable U.S. Iron and Steel requirements under 23 CFR 635.410, ORC 153.011, and ORC 5525.21.
