Description
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention is offering grants through two funding categories: improving youth reentry and strengthening community-based youth reentry programs. Projects are intended to reduce recidivism by providing moderate- to high-risk youth with comprehensive services before, during, and after release from juvenile confinement, or transitional services that support successful return to the community. Eligible applicants vary by category and include state, local, and federally recognized Tribal governments, as well as qualifying nonprofit organizations. Category 1 requires a 50% nonfederal match; Category 2 does not require matching funds. Category 1 applicants must include a draft or executed memorandum of understanding demonstrating specified correctional-agency partnerships. Category 2 applicants must provide a draft or executed MOU or letter of support demonstrating the required collaborative relationships. The anticipated award period is 36 months beginning January 1, 2027, with awards of up to $750,000.
